1   Ultrasound

Scheduling Phone Number:
330-263-8660

Locations:
Wooster Community Hospital
Healthpoint

Wooster Community Hospital offers Ultrasound (Sonography), which is a valuable imaging tool utilizing sound waves. Evaluation of many of the body's internal organs, as well as observation of unborn babies is possible through the use of ultrasound. Some exams, such as those for blood vessels and the heart, can be captured in real time. This provides an actual recording of information for the physician to review. Other organs, as well as unborn children, are best evaluated with a sequence of still pictures taken during the examination. Ultrasound can assist a physician in determining the source of pain, swelling, or infection in a specific part of the body. Since ultrasound uses real time imaging, it can also be used to guide procedures such as needle biopsies. During these procedures, needles are used to sample cells from an organ for laboratory testing. Services can be scheduled Monday through Friday. Hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at HealthPoint and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Wooster Community Hospital.

    Bone Densitometry

Location:
HealthPoint

Bone Densitometry is an X-Ray procedure that measures bone loss due to bone disease. Bone Densitometry measurement is simple, safe, noninvasive, and painless. Bone Densitometry is most often used to diagnose Osteoporosis, the loss of bone mass. Bone Densitometry determines bone mineral density (BMD) for the area measured and compare that result with the average BMD of a young adult with the same sex and race at their peak BMD.

With the use of Vertebral Fracture Assessment Software the Bone Density Scan can access the stability of any spine fractures related to loss of bone mass. This information will help your doctor determine if there is a need to take certain steps in protecting bone health. Services are available Tuesday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Sometimes when you want it the least, your body needs it the most.  When you feel tired, worn out and stressed out, the last thing you feel like doing is driving down to your health club for an intense workout.  The fact is, this is exactly what you should do. 1
